Chairman

Antonio Brufau Niubó has been Chairman of Repsol since 2004. His extensive experience in the business world and his expertise in the sector have enabled him in the last decade to lead the company's transformation process. Today, Repsol is a global multienergy company committed to the transition towards a more sustainable energy model.

Antonio Brufau's ties to Repsol date back to 1996, when he joined the Board of Directors. He remained a company director until his appointment as Chairman on October 27th, 2004.

Antonio Brufau has a degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona and was named Doctor Honoris Causa by the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona.

He began his professional career at Arthur Andersen, where he became Partner and Director of Auditing. In 1988, he joined “la Caixa” Group as Deputy Managing Director, later serving as Managing Director between 1999 and 2004. Moreover, he was Chairman of the Gas Natural Group from 1997 to 2004.

Antonio Brufau is member of the Board of Acción Empresarial of CEOE, Asociación Española de Directivos, Círculo de Economía, and Honorary Chairman of the Inter-Institutional Consortium GLOBALleida. Furthermore, he is a trustee of Fundación Privada Instituto Ildefons Cerdà, Fundación CEDE (Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives), Real Instituto Elcano, FUNSEAM (Foundation for Energy and Environmental Sustainability), COTEC (Foundation for Technological Innovation), and Fundación Princesa Girona.

Antonio Brufau has been a Director of Repsol since he was first appointed by the Board of Directors on July 23rd, 1996 and was subsequently ratified at the Annual General Meeting held on June 6th, 1997. He was reelected at the Annual General Meetings held on March 24th, 1999, April 4th, 2003, May 9th, 2007, April 15th, 2011, April 30th, 2015 and May 31st, 2019.

Vice-Chairman

António Calçada de Sá is currently the Executive Managing Director and Vice Chairman of Fundación Repsol.

Prior to December 2018, António Calçada de Sá had been a member of the Downstream Executive Committee, CEO of Repsol Comercial (RCPP), Chairman of Repsol Portugal, Chairman of Air Miles, S.A., and has sat on the boards of various Repsol Group companies and joint ventures (Petrocat, Terminales Canarios, and Gespevesa).

As an Executive Managing Director of the Repsol Group, for years he has led the Service Stations, Direct Sales and International Aviation in four countries: Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Mexico. All of this, thanks to his extensive knowledge of the retail and sales and distribution sectors in different markets and cultures across Europe and Latin America.

He began his career in the '80s at the US multinational Exxon. There, he worked in various sectors and markets (Spain, Portugal, Italy, and North Africa), ranging from chemicals and petrochemicals to fuels and lubricants.

He is the current Chairman of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Spain, a founding member of the Council of the Worldwide Portuguese Diaspora, and in 2010 received an award in Portugal for best manager of the year. In 2014, the president of Portugal personally granted him the official title of Comendador (commander) in return for his service to Portugal and its image around the world, thanks to his work as a citizen and Executive Director at Repsol.

António Calçada de Sá earned his degree in industrial engineering at the University of Lisbon’s Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), later getting an MBA at the IE Business School of Madrid and Managing Corporate Resources at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Secretary

Iñigo Alonso de Noriega is corporate director of Corporate Governance at Repsol. His responsibilities include advising Repsol's Board of Directors, of which he is vice-secretary, on Corporate Governance matters, as well as collaborating with the Secretariat of this body and its Committees and legal aspects related to the Annual General Meeting. He is also responsible for giving legal advice on corporate matters of the Repsol Group subsidiaries and with respect to the obligations related to the stock market of the Company as a listed company, in addition to giving legal advice to the Repsol Foundation. He is also a member and secretary of the Internal Transparency Committee.

He joined the Repsol Group in 2005 and, in addition to the functions mentioned above, he has been secretary of Repsol's Ethics and Compliance Committee (2006–2023), Compliance Officer of the Group (2016–2018), and responsible for giving advice on legal-financial matters, insurance, and means of payment. 

He began his professional career in the early 1990s working in several law firms, mainly in the commercial (corporate, contractual, and the stock market) and procedural fields.

Iñigo Alonso de Noriega has a Law Degree from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and has completed postgraduate studies in Law and Economics at Northeastern University in Boston (USA).

Josu Jon Imaz San Miguel

Josu Jon Imaz San Miguel

Josu Jon Imaz San Miguel has been Repsol's Chief Executive Officer since April, 2014. Ever since, he has led the company's transformation process, which has established itself today as one of the leading companies in the oil and gas sector. Improving efficiency and asset portfolio management are the core pillars of the strategy driven by the CEO, aiming to turn Repsol into a leaner and more competitive company that is capable of making the most of its integrated business model in terms of performance.

In 2008, Josu Jon Imaz joined Repsol as Chairman of its subsidiary Petronor, a company where he successfully managed the challenges of modernization, sustainability, and community relations. As of 2010, in addition to serving as Chairman of Petronor he also became Director of New Energies. In 2012, he joined the Executive Committee as Executive Managing Director of the Industrial Area and New Energies, where he was responsible for coordinating the activities at all the industrial complexes, among other functions. He was also Vice Chairman of Gas Natural SDG, S.A. from September 2016 to February 2018.

Josu Jon Imaz is a Doctor of Chemical Sciences from the University of the Basque Country. He graduated from the School of Chemical Sciences in San Sebastián and received the award of excellence upon completion of his degree. He was also a visiting scholar at Harvard Kennedy School in the United States.

He began his career in the field of research upon being sent to the French Technological Center (CETIM) in Nantes, as well as in the field of industrial (Grupo Mondragón) and business project promotion in connection with the world of energy. Josu Jon Imaz also held a number of political roles, including notable ones within the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism of the Basque Government in 1999, and as President of the Basque Nationalist Party (EAJ-PNV).

He is currently Chief Executive Officer of Repsol and Trustee of Repsol Foundation. Mr. Imaz was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Repsol and member of the Corporate Executive Committee by the Board of Directors on April 30th, 2014. His appointment was ratified, and he was reelected at the Annual General Meeting on April 30th, 2015 and on May 31st, 2019.

Luis Cabra Dueñas

Luis Cabra Dueñas

Luis Cabra is executive managing director of Energy Transition, Technology, Institutional Affairs, and deputy CEO. He has been member of Repsol's Executive Committee since 2012. His responsibilities include core areas for the development and implementation of the company's energy transition strategy, such as Technology, Digitalization, Engineering, and Sustainability. He also manages the following corporate areas: Audit, Control, and Risk; Institutional Relations and Regulatory Coordination; Reserve Control; Cybersecurity; and Corporate Security. He leads cross-cutting company projects such as the Safety Excellence and the Energy Transition Financing Program and the Energy Transition Financing Programs.

From 2018 to 2020, he participated in the elaboration of Repsol's energy transition and decarbonization strategy, in addition to leading the company's first Digitalization Program and the consolidation of the Global Services model.

Throughout his career within the Repsol Group, Luis Cabra has held diverse roles in businesses and corporate areas. He joined the company in 1984 as a process engineer at the A Coruña refinery in Spain and later held management positions in Refining, Technology, Engineering, Procurement, and Safety and Environment areas.

In 2010, he moved to Repsol's E&P division as executive director of Development and Production. From 2012 to July 2018, he served as the executive managing director of Exploration and Production. Under his stewardship, the company doubled its production by integrating the assets and teams from Talisman. From 2015 to 2017, he launched a wide-ranging efficiency and capital discipline program that turned the company's hydrocarbon exploration and production business into a free cash-flow generator.

Luis Cabra holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Complutense University of Madrid and has completed business management studies at the international schools INSEAD and IMD. In addition, he has worked as a head lecturer and associate lecturer at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

He has also represented Repsol in various international associations, serving as chairman of the Automotive Fuels Action Group of the European Petroleum Industry Association, chairman of the European Biofuels Technology Platform, and member of the European Research Advisory Board. In June 2021, he was appointed president of FuelsEurope and Concawe, associations that represent the European fuel manufacturing industry.

Valero Marín Sastrón

Valero Marín Sastrón

Valero Marín Sastrón is executive managing director of Client and member of the Executive Committee at Repsol. He is responsible for the design of a multi-energy offer in which Repsol seeks to comprehensively meet all energy needs in the home and in mobility, with responsibilities in the areas of Mobility, LPG, Electric Mobility, Retail Electricity and Gas, Energy Solutions, and Lubricants.

Until August 2022, he was the corporate director of Digitalization and Global Services, where he led a profound transformation of the organization. His clear focus on internal customer service and digitalization has evolved business processes with the launch of more than 370 digital initiatives and key enablers.

At the same time, he promoted initiatives like IndesIA, the association for the development of a new economy that generates economic growth in Spain through the acceleration of the use of data and Artificial Intelligence by large industrial companies and SMEs. Valero Marín serves as chairman of IndesIA.

He joined the Repsol Group back in 2001. After a decade assuming various management positions linked to different CFO areas (Tax Policy, Treasury, Economic-Administrative), he was tasked with leading the Repsol Transformation Program in 2015 in which synergies were achieved and an ambitious efficiency program was launched. He was later appointed director of Global Services and Resources, which involved the creation of a company global service unit with a focus on efficiency and digitalization. In December 2018, he was named chief information officer (CIO) and chief data officer (CDO) of Repsol.

Valero Marín Sastrón holds an economics degree from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and completed Repsol's Executive Development Program.

Carmen Muñoz Pérez

Carmen Muñoz Pérez

Carmen Muñoz Pérez is Executive Manager of People and Organization and member of the Executive Committee at Repsol. Her responsibilities encompass the strategic management of talent and organizational flexibility and agility, which are key pillars in the successful implementation of our Strategic Plan and roadmap towards reaching net zero emissions by 2050.

Previous to this role, she served as executive director of LPG at Repsol until December 2020.

She joined the Repsol Group in 1994, starting in the Aviation area where she held various commercial positions as well as in business support and development.

She later held a number of staff positions in various commercial businesses (Service Stations, Direct Sales, Lubricants and Specialized Products, and LPG) in the Controlling, Planning, and Business Development areas, both locally and internationally (Latin America, Italy, and Portugal), where she provided support to the business executive teams, creating and managing transformation projects in cross-company coordination with various Group areas ranging from the business to the corporate scope.

In 2014, she was named director and led the Division of Commercial Business Development and Strategy until May of 2016, when she became Director of Pricing and Loyalty Programs for Service Stations Spain.

Her experience includes collaborating with and leading multidisciplinary teams, driving the development of people with high potential, and participating in projects with third parties (JV SLCA/BP) such as the development of into-plane activities for Aviation Spain, LNG development for Service Stations with GN Fenosa, a JV with Klikin for the launch of Waylet, and agreements with Total and DKV for the Solred International Development Project.

Carmen Muñoz Pérez earned her Degree in Law as well as Business Management and Administration at U.P. Comillas (ICADE) and has completed the Executive Development Programs (EDPs) at Repsol and ESADE.

Marcos Fraga García

Marcos Fraga García

Marcos Fraga serves as director of communication and Corporate Marketing at Repsol, overseeing the Communication, International Communication and Transformation, and Corporate Marketing Divisions, as well as the Digital Communication Department.

He also oversees the Chairman’s Office and reports directly to Repsol Chairman Antonio Brufau and CEO Josu Jon Imaz.

He joined Repsol in 2006, and since then he has undertaken different roles in the Company’s Communication Division.

Prior to joining Repsol, he worked as a journalist for Spain’s two main news agencies (EFE and Europa Press), with a focus on economic reporting, as well as for the business daily Expansión. He also collaborated with publishing houses such as Planeta, Altaya, and RBA.

He holds a degree in journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Additionally, he has completed the Repsol Program of Advanced Management (Financial Times/IE Business School) and the Global Chief Communications Officer Program (Corporate Excellence – Center for Reputation Leadership/ESADE Business School).

Begoña Elices García

Begoña Elices García

Begoña Elices García was Executive Managing Director of Communication and the Chairman's Office, and member of Repsol's Corporate Executive Committee until December 2020.

Her career at Repsol began in 2000. Ever since, she has held various senior management positions in the Communication area where she has promoted a policy based on transparency and ongoing media attention.

Before joining the company, Begoña Elices held numerous corporate communication roles in a number of companies within the financial sector. She was Deputy Director General and Director of Public Relations for Banco Santander Central Hispano, and formerly performed the same functions at Banco Central Hispano.

Before entering the world of corporate communication, she spent 10 years as a journalist for the Spanish news wire Agencia EFE. There, she served in several journalistic roles in the areas of national, international, and economy-related news.

Begoña Elices holds an Information Sciences degree as well as an Economics degree from Complutense University of Madrid.

As of April 2018, she serves as President of the Spanish Advertisers Association (AEA).

Pedro Fernández Frial

Pedro Fernández Frial

Pedro Fernández Frial, is an industrial engineer from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineers of Madrid and a PDD graduate from the Institute of Higher Business Studies (IESE).

He began his career in the Repsol group in 1980, in the Refining area. In 1992 he joined the Planning and Control Department of the group with responsibility for planning the gas business. In 1994 he was appointed Director of Planning and Control of the Chemical area. In 2002 he was appointed head of this area.

In 2003 he was appointed corporate director of Planning and Control of the Repsol group. In January 2005 he became General Manager of Downstream, with responsibility for the Refining, Marketing, Chemical, LPG, Trading and New Energies businesses.

He was until april 2016 Executive Director of Strategy, Control and Resources at Repsol.

Cristina Sanz Mendiola

Cristina Sanz Mendiola

Cristina Sanz Mendiola is holds a degree in Advanced Industrial Engineering from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales in Madrid, specialising in industrial organisation.

The first years of her career were spent in the steel and metals industry, before working for a year in Pittsburgh, United States, in the Engineering and Public Policy Department of Carnegie-Mellon University

She then took the official examinations to join the Ministry of Industry and Energy’s Corps of Industrial Engineers, holding the post of Head of International Industrial Relations.

Throughout this period she was in charge of bilateral international industrial relations and relations with the European Union, participating in negotiations on Spain’s accession to the European Economic Community. She was later in charge of the General Sub-Division of Energy Planning, including the Environment and Research and Energy Sector Development areas.

In 1994 she joined the Repsol Group as Environment Director of Repsol YPF, before going on to be Director of Environment, Safety and Quality.

From May 2007 she held the post of Executive Director of Resources, an area where she had been Corporate Director since 2005, being responsible for the Engineering, Technology, Insurance, Purchasing and Contracting, Information Systems and Environment and Safety Departments.

She was until april 2016 Executive Director of People and Organisation.
