The Zinkers Awards celebrate their third edition by recognizing educational innovation in sustainability

  • The Repsol Foundation awards the best initiatives of primary and secondary schools throughout Spain in the field of ecological transition, climate change, and sustainability
  • Each winning school will receive €2,500 to develop innovation projects and carry out activities related to the ecological transition
  • The awards ceremony will take place in Madrid on June 20, presided by Antonio Brufau, Repsol chairman, where the two final winners that will receive a prize of €15,000 each will be announced

 

The Repsol Foundation has announced the winners of the third edition of the Zinkers Awards, which recognize the best primary and secondary schools in each autonomous community in Spain. These awards highlight the most innovative projects in the areas of ecological transition, climate change, and sustainability.

The schools awarded will receive an economic funding of €2,500 to implement innovation projects in their institutions and carry out educational activities on the ecological transition with their students. Moreover, on June 20 the final ceremony will be held in Madrid where the two final primary and secondary winners will be announced, who will receive a prize of €15,000 each. The awards ceremony will be attended by Antonio Brufau, Repsol chairman, and representatives of the Spanish Ministry of Education and the education departments of the autonomous communities.

The new Zinkers VT program will be presented during the ceremony, designed to address the curricular content of the sustainability module in the productive sectors according to the new Organic Law on Vocational Training. The Zinkers VT program aims to prepare Vocational Training students with the necessary skills to integrate and progress in the job market, providing teachers with tools to develop content and competencies related to sustainability.

Zinkers is a free and multilingual educational program that promotes sustainability learning through active methodologies. There are currently over 4,600 primary and secondary schools in Spain registered in Zinkers programs, covering a broad spectrum of content adapted to the school curriculum on energy, climate change, sustainable mobility, circular economy, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
